What kind of problems can you help with?

Relationships - couple, family or other

Separation / divorce recovery
Bereavement
Anxiety, depression, anger, stress, trauma, phobias

Work-place issues

Some of these conditions cannot be helped by telephone counselling, but do call me to discuss.

As a Human Givens therapist I am not only interested in what is troubling you - working holistically: I am also interested in your work, your hobbies, your interests, your relationships, your beliefs, your skills and abilities, etc., which are all are potential resources.

How many sessions will I need?

At the end of your initial session we may negotiate a limited number of sessions to start with.  However, ultimately you decide on whether you want just one session or more.  Each session lasts fifty minutes to one hour. Further information.  We will work to get you well again as soon as possible and often an improvement is felt after the very first session.

How much does it cost?

The fees differ, depending on whether you choose to come for a daytime, evening or Saturday appointment, regardless of whether you come on your own or as a couple.  Please contact me for details on tel.: 01634 856176.  Concessions may be available.

What are your qualifications?

I have the Human Givens Postgraduate Diploma and the Relate Certificate in Marital and Couple Counselling. I have over fifteen years of counselling experience in several settings, incl. a GP surgery, a major Kent public service and a secondary school, as well as having been in private practice since 1995. I have done well over 7000 sessions.

My work is supervised in accordance to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics. I am a HGI, CCC and BACP Registered Counsellor.

Do you have a waiting list?

I can often offer an initial appointment within a few days.

Do you give advice?

I am happy to give advice and/or information, if requested; however, it would unethical for me to advise you on whether you should separate or end a relationship. I can help you to explore your options to help you to decide for yourself.

What is the 'success' rate?

Anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, trauma, and anger problems can mostly be very successfully treated. You may be surprised at how soon changes can start to take place.
For some people success means the survival of their marriage. For others it means the recovery or maintenance of their self-esteem and dignity, and the
continued well-being of the children, even though their relationship has broken down .

It is important to discuss your hopes and expectations during your first counselling session.

Do you offer email and/or telephone counselling?

I do offer telephone counselling.
I regret I am unable to offer email counselling.
