Effective therapy from a 'human' givens perspective
Human givens therapy is different. The 'human givens' approach is an 'organising idea' - organising, and building on well-established theories, principles and what we know is effective in counselling.
Maybe counselling or therapy was the last thing you ever wanted, perhaps because you don't like talking about your problems or you think no one can help you anyway, or you have tried it and it did not work. But now you can no longer hide your distress, have run out of steam and are finally willing to consider counselling, however reluctantly. Read on to find out how you can benefit from human givens therapy.
The benefits of human givens therapy
Human givens therapy can help you to:
A counsellor's perspective
The human givens approach has made a huge impact on how I work with clients: - it gives my natural, eclectic way of working a wider context - it defines my interventions around needs and resources - it helps to clarify perceptions - it eases the process of agreeing on needs and goals in the sessions - it often brings immediate relief, particularly with trauma
All of this has made the whole process even more satisfying for me. Research into the human givens approachis well under way to determine its effectiveness.
In addition I have access to a wide range of professionals familiar with the human givens, should I need any advice with regards to a client (see below.)

Suffering from anxiety or depression?
Charles Linden suffered badly from anxiety for a good part of his life. He found a way out himself, as doctors, medication and counselling failed. He is now cured. He can help you to free yourself from all those lousy symptoms. You will be able to enjoy again all those activities you have been avoiding!
If you can't wait to sort out that depression, you might want to have a look at the Depression Free method.
Human givens therapy Effective, practical and research-based
Who can become a human givens therapist?
My hg colleagues come from a wide range of professional backgrounds: GPs, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, counsellors, specialists, physiotherapists, teachers, head teachers, any individual who wants to work more effectively with people would benefit from the workshops and seminars run by Mindfields College.
There are hundreds of different counselling/psychotherapy models. The European Therapy Studies Institute (ETSI) was established to look into what makes counselling effective. The ideas that came from that have been condensed into the human givens postgraduate diploma course.
Counsellors/therapists may be trained by respectable schools and accredited by professional bodies, however, this unfortunately is not a guarantee that their work is effective.
